Built In-House. Built to Perform.

At The Vinyl Company we don’t outsource precision—we engineer it ourselves. Every die, vacuum calibrator, and water tank used in our extrusion process is designed, manufactured, and maintained in-house by our expert tooling team. Controlling the tooling means we control the quality, consistency, and speed of every profile we produce.

Tooling is the Backbone of Performance

Our in-house tooling department gives us—and our customers—a distinct advantage:

Custom Die Design

We design precision dies tailored to each profile’s geometry, wall thickness, and material flow—ensuring tight tolerances, clean surface finishes, and structural consistency.

Vacuum & Water Calibration Systems

Our engineers build and fine-tune vacuum sizing plates and water tanks for accurate profile cooling and stabilization during extrusion. This allows for better surface quality and dimension control.

Rapid Tooling Adjustments & Iteration

Because we build and maintain our own tooling, we can quickly adapt to design changes, troubleshoot issues, and bring new profiles to market faster than competitors relying on third-party tool shops.

Minimized Scrap & Downtime

In-house control over tool wear and maintenance ensures fewer extrusion defects, more uptime, and lower material waste—directly benefiting your bottom line.

Integrated Profile & Tool Design

Our tooling team works hand-in-hand with our engineering group, using CAD/CAM software to co-develop the profile and the tooling—eliminating the disconnect between design intent and production reality.

How Our Tooling Process Works

Here’s how a new profile goes from concept to production—entirely in-house.

Profile Design Collaboration

We work closely with your team to finalize dimensions, fabrication requirements, and reinforcement strategy.

CAD & Simulation

Our engineering team develops detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for every custom profile, ensuring dimensional accuracy, smooth fabrication, and proper tooling integration. We also run thermal simulations to ensure your profiles meet the energy performance requirements necessary for ENERGY STAR® and regional code compliance.

Die & Vacuum Tooling Design

Custom dies and calibration tools are designed to match the profile’s extrusion geometry and cooling needs.

In-House CNC Machining

All components are precision-machined in our tooling shop using high-grade tool steel and aluminum.

Test Runs & Adjustments

We run sample extrusions, evaluate the profile, and make real-time refinements to the tooling for optimal quality.

Full Production Launch

Once the profile and tooling are finalized, we move into full-scale production using our in-house extrusion lines and quality control systems. To validate system-level performance, we also coordinate AAMA-certified structural testing to ensure your window and door systems perform as designed—meeting or exceeding the standards for air, water, and structural integrity.

Let's Build Better, Together.
